FAQ's
What’s Toastmasters all about?

Toastmasters is a worldwide group that helps people get better at public speaking. There are over 16,600 clubs in 143 countries.

Our meetings are all about practicing prepared and off-the-cuff speeches, plus giving and getting helpful feedback in a super supportive environment.

Do I have to talk?

Not at all! Just showing up is an awesome start. We totally get that speaking in front of people can be nerve-wracking, so we never force anyone to talk.

If you want to just sit back and see how it works, that’s completely fine. We do offer a chance for guests to introduce themselves, but it’s totally optional—you can skip it if you’re not feeling ready yet.

On the other hand, if you’re up for a challenge, you can join in on Table Topics. These are fun, short, 1–2 minute impromptu speeches that are always a good laugh.

What happens at the meetings?

Meetings are all about practicing your speaking skills and getting constructive feedback. Here’s how it’s usually broken down:

-
Prepared speeches: Members deliver talks they’ve planned in advance.
-
Table topics: Improvised speeches where you think on your feet.
-
Evaluations: Friendly, helpful feedback to help you improve.
