Who can join?
Toastmasters in Insurance is open exclusively to professionals working in or connected to the insurance and reinsurance industry — whether you’re in underwriting, broking, claims, actuarial, operations, compliance, or any supporting function.

If you’re looking to communicate with greater confidence, lead meetings with authority, and build your network across the market, this club is for you.

We encourage all prospective members to attend a meeting or two as a guest — free of charge. You’ll get to experience our sessions first-hand, meet members from across the London market, and see how the club can help you develop both personally and professionally.

How much does it cost?

Annual membership is expected to be between £200 and £300, depending on the time of year you join.

Most of this fee goes directly to Toastmasters International, which provides access to the global education platform, training materials, and member resources.
The remaining portion is reinvested back into our members — funding trophies, ribbons, drinks, and refreshments at meetings.
Membership runs in line with the Toastmasters International renewal cycle, ending on 30th September each year, with pro-rata fees for anyone joining mid-term.

Learning pathways

At Toastmasters in Insurance, your development journey is built around Pathways — structured learning tracks that help you strengthen communication and leadership skills in a practical, measurable way. Each pathway combines speaking projects, feedback, and real-world application so you can grow at your own pace while applying what you learn in your day-to-day work.

Here are the five of the six most relevant Pathways for professionals in the industry:
Dynamic Leadership
Develop the ability to lead strategically, make decisions under pressure, and adapt your communication style to different audiences. This pathway is ideal for anyone who manages teams, coordinates client accounts, or wants to influence outcomes across departments or markets.
Engaging Humor
Learn how to use humour naturally and effectively to connect with audiences, ease tension, and build rapport. You’ll discover how the right tone and timing can make your presentations, pitches, and internal meetings more memorable and relatable.
Motivational Strategies
Strengthen your leadership presence by understanding what drives people and how to inspire them. This pathway focuses on motivational communication, empathy, and constructive feedback — invaluable skills for managing teams and leading projects in fast-moving business environments.
Persuasive Influence
Master the art of influencing decisions and leading in complex or high-stakes situations. You’ll refine your ability to persuade through logic, emotion, and credibility — key competencies for brokers, underwriters, and anyone negotiating outcomes or presenting recommendations.
Presentation Mastery
Elevate your public speaking skills and gain confidence delivering structured, impactful presentations. This pathway helps you craft compelling narratives, manage stage presence, and handle Q&A sessions with authority — ideal for client presentations, internal briefings, and conferences.
